3. I have the same issue as Frank, posted at Nov. 21st. What I´ve discovered so far is that Motorola V710 simply does not support anykind of network connection via BT (this was said by Motorola support in Brazil). Only handsfree speakerphone distribiuted by Motorola are supported. After some work, I found that it does support Dial Up Network connection, but it´s very unstable and I just could connect at 14.4k. I´m still working on that with Palmone support in Brazil. Also, I heard about some firmware update that adds the BT profile for that. I stronglly recomend that everybody send to Motorola some angry e-mails to encourage them to release this firmware update officially.

4. I wonder how many of us wasted time and momey in hopes that we could use this combo of technology. Anyone interested in a class action suit. This seems to be the only way to get things done-Shame on MOTOROLA

5. I can't believe that I can't connect my motorola phone with my new Palm. All the info on the websites say that as long as your phone is bluetooth enabled you will be able to connect the devices. what a load of crap. i wonder if there is anything to be done...

6. Boy - Am I glad I tripped over this thread! I was just about to go out and buy a V710. I have a Zire72s and thought it would be able to dial/sync with the V710 via BlueTooth. Has this been resolved by Mot? Do they have a road map to providing this functionality?
Thanks,

8. Just got my V710 today. Was able to connect my Palm T3 via bluetooth and get on the web. It's awesome! No fumbling around with those nasty cables! Locate your phone on Palm's bluetooth, load to Trusted Devices. Edit connection in Palm (Connect: PC, Via: Bluetooth, Device: Motorola Phone. Edit network connection in Palm. Select service (I have Verizon). Enter user name & password (given by Verizon or or your service provider). Select connection previously edited. Enter details in Detail section (get from your service provider), and connect. If you still need more info, respond to this message. Woohoo! I love it!

9. Jeez,
I'm using a Zire 72, PalmOS 5.2.8. Latest phone Link Update does not include V710. Which Moto phone did you select? Nor is Verizon listed as a service.

10. I also have the v710 and a Palm T3 but no luck in getting the two to communicate. PhoneLink does not include Verizon, nor is it mentioned on Palm's site, and the v710 is also not an option. Any help from someone who has it working would be appreciated.

14. Having the same problem as everyone else, bought a motorola v 710 to sync with my zire 72. I asked the verizon saleperson if these two items were compatible and was told they were. Now i just spent $250.00 for a new phone plus had to sign a new two year contract with verizon.

15. I have the same problem as everyone else, two
gagets that won't speak to each other. I had
previous had my Zire 72 pair with a v600 but
thought the mp3 player on the v710 would be nice, should have stayed with the v600. I also
had heard Verizon had good cellular service but it have been a nightmare for me about 80% dropped calls, and two phones latter "same problem"... People when your contract is up don't forget, that what they are betting on..

16. Verizon has disabled the features in the Motorola V710 so that it will ONLY work with a Bluetooth enabled headset. It won't work with a handheld. Whatever jeezworld may have said up above.
Their reasons for doing so? Who knows? I suspect it has something to do with Verizon's contracts with some of their other data services providers.
Having said all of that, Phonelink hasn't updated their phone list in quite some time. Most of the phones listed are antiquated phones. C'mon, Palm. Get your act together and write us Zire 72 users some more definitions.

17. Have there been any updates w/ the Zire 72 & Motorola V710, that anyone knows of? I had a looooong chat w/ my cell carrier (Alltel) today and they told me that the bluetooth should work without any problems. Apparently it will not work if Verizon is your cell carrier.
Are non-Verizon cell customers having problems? It is too late now, but I am calling PalmOne tomorrow as well as Alltel and maybe a conference call since I am sure the blame will be placed on the "other" company!!

19. I have a v710 and zire 72 and have no problem getting mail and getting on the internet. You have to get the latest version of the phone tools and go thru the set up. On the 710 hit the find me now and it will come up. Work on getting this to work it is the greatest.

20. Do you have a good location to download the latest version of phone tools? The one on Palm's website does not include the v710.
