I've been working with the folks from Flexilis on the recent flurry of
Bluetooth distance records and the Bluesniper rifle. Earlier this week we broke our previous distance record and
bluesnarfed a phone from 1.08 miles distant.
Here's a few sites covering the results…
Wired News - Article on Bluetooth security
weakness and attacks from 1 mile
Gizmodo
- Interview with John Hering about BT distance and the Bluesniper rifle (In the picture, I'm the guy on the far
right!)
Tom's Hardware Guide - Background with
video of the Bluesniper rifle unveiling
Wifi-Toys.com - Writeup on previous 1 kilometer
record (set last week)
Engadget - Bluesnarfing at 1.08 miles.

In the picture here (Martin Herfurt is on the left), you can see the Santa Monica Pier in the distance behind us. The Bluesnarfing laptop was hitting the Nokia phone I am holding from the Pier 1.08 miles away.

1. I hate to post this here, but I couldn't find a search feature on your site, nor an email address. My question is: Where could I find a list of free wifi hotspots across the country?
