Smartphones are continuing to fly off the shelves, according to a new market study from Canalsys. Worldwide shipments of smartphones and other data-ready wireless mobile devices totaled over 12 million during the second quarter this year, compared to less than six million a year ago at this time. (That's an amazing 50% increase.) Nokia also saw its market share in this space increase to 54.9%, up from 33.2%.
