The new edition of the very cool Mini Cooper automobiles from BMW will feature a Bluetooth hands-free system.
Clarity Technologies Inc. announced today that its award winning CVC voice communications software technology embedded in Peiker's Bluetooth hands-free system will be available to more consumers in the US in the soon to be released automobiles for the Mini Cooper.
Clarity Technologies' proprietary software suite includes multi-award- winning voice extraction and echo-cancellation software that adapts itself while capturing the voice of interest from background sounds (including other voices). This state-of-the-art technology is far more advanced than the more common noise cancellation approaches that simply suppress noise components. This makes the voice more intelligible to the human ear, more recognizable to computers and optimizes vocoders telecommunication devices and networks. Peiker is recognized as an industry leader in providing hands-free cellular products to the automobile industry. Their products are available in Europe for Mercedes and BMW in addition to the Mini Cooper, Chrysler and Lincoln in the US.
Clarity Technologies Inc. is recognized as the independent leader of audio voice input software for the automotive industry. The combination of a premier hands-free car kit manufacturer and the technology leader in voice signal processing software has created a new standard by which all other voice based interfaces for the car are being measured.

1. Hi there -- actually, you have your facts a bit wrong. Bluetooth is built into several car lines in the US including Toyota (the Prius and Lexus models), DaimlerChrysler (is an option on every DL car), Honda (comes standard in all Acura TLs), BMW, etc., etc. While Europe may be ahead in Bluetooth adoption overall, the US is definitely picking it up in the automotive category.
